A Note From Our Founder, Kenny
I've always loved birds. There's nothing quite like a warm cup of coffee on the back porch, listening to the songbirds greet the morning. For years, I thought I was doing my part to help them, buying a bag of seed here and there, filling up the feeder, and feeling good about it.
But one morning, I started thinking differently. I realized I didn't actually know what the birds around my home needed or what I was really putting out for them. I was just grabbing whatever the store had on sale and assuming it was helping.
The truth? It wasn't.
I've always been particular about what goes into my own body and my family's. We eat clean, avoid fillers, and choose food that fuels us, not harms us. Even my dog and cat eat human-grade food. Yet somehow, I'd never stopped to think about what was in bird feed.
When I finally looked closer, I saw fillers, dyes, and even treated seeds. I wondered: Is this mix helping the birds or hurting them? Are they picking through junk seed and leaving it to rot on the ground? What does that do to my soil or the ecosystem right under my feet? Was I feeding them, or was I just creating a breeding ground for pests and problems?
That moment changed everything.
It hit me that there are thousands of people just like me, folks who love birds, care about nature, and want to do good… but don't have the right information. We mean well, but we've been misled by convenience.
So I decided to do something about it.
